LULLABY
There once was an egg a top of a tree,And one day it cracked eager to see,It's father an eagle, It's mother a dove,In a nest that was bound to be showered in love. The chick was exited to witness the world,To fly and to hunt like any other bird.He scouted around, for trees and other things,But all he could see were his father's wings.Flaunting them around the eagle flexed his might,For the chick and the dove who quivered in fright.Frightened and distressed, the chick closed it's eyes,But all it could hear were it's mothers cries. What was he to do, helpless and frail? He screamed for them to stop, but to no avail. His senses were terrible, cruel to his heart,His life a disaster, wicked from the start. And so to ignore the present and the past,He plucked his own feathers, down to the last.Until one day, he wasn't firghtened as before,Now it was a bird, a chick no more.So he dared to leap and conquer the skies,Ignoring his father, ignoring the cries. Now there lays a corpse which paid anothers toll,Featherless wings, and a wasted soul
